6Adult Ministries

Life is better when experienced and connected to others. If you are new to the Christian faith, or coming back to church after some time away, or if you have been in the faith for years, you have a great opportunity to do life together with others. For adults, we have all kinds of groups. There are groups for men and women. There are groups for married couples. There are groups for those who prefer to be with those in the same stage of life. We believe that being in a Bible Study Group — a Life Group is essential for spiritual growth. At Southside we have two primary means by which we do structure our Life Groups. we have the traditional Sunday School model and we have small groups. Some studies are topical (ex., Finances/Debt, Parenting). Some are based on a book of the Bible (ex. Romans, John). Others are theme based (ex., fellowship, discipleship). If you do not join one of our Life Groups, you have made a conscious decision not to achieve your fullest potential in Christ. Have your own daily walk with God is important, the only way we can achieve our fullestest potential is through God’s design — Life Groups. Join one and you’ll do life together with others, have peopel there to support you when life comes at you and you’ll begin to see your potential come alive.
7Children’s Ministries

Southside loves children. That is why we give our best to them. If you attend worship at either service, we have an awesome Children’s Church for them while you are learning from God in “Big Church.” In addition to this, we have Children’s Sunday School and we have a fantastic Wednesday night program for children too. We do children’s summer camps for drama, music and Vacation Bible School. Your children will have a blast.
8Youth Ministries

Our Youth Ministry is tops. Our goal is to create an environment where students prioritize their relationship with Christ, exert positive peer pressure on their friends, and experience personal ministry through local and extended missions opportunities. Our primary outreach is on Wednesday nights at our Main Campus. We create an environment that is awesome. Each week students experience a combinatin of worship with a live student band, games, a challenging talk, and most importantly, heartfelt interaction with a small group. On Sundays, our students can attend one of the worship services and/or attend a student Life Group that meets on the main campus during the worship service. Our overall goal is for students to explore their relationship with Jesus and how that can influence every decision they make!
9Worship/Media Team

There is nothing like sharing your week with the Lord to others. Our worship team is comprised of people who simply love the Lord, love to worship and who love to praise God unrestrained. Whether it is through their voices or their instruments, they remind us that we are all here for an audience of One — Jesus Christ. In addition to these awesome people, we have our Tech Team. These guys make sure that all our planning and praying pays off. They run our computers, screens, and sound. They are the backbone to what we do. If you do not like being in front of people, you can serve God by making sure His people praise Him.

Description Southside Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church committed to the Great Commission through the Southern Baptist Convention. All the international and domestic missionaries in the Southern Baptist Convention do not have to raise their own funds. 42,000 Southern Baptist churches contribut to what we call “The Cooperative Program.” All the funds received through this funds half of the costs for both international and domestic missions. The remaining half is collected through two special offerings a year: The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, which makes up the difference for the international funding and The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, which makes us for the domestic funding.

In addition to supporting these three funds, Southside also is partnering with the country of Moldoa. Each year we send a mission team there for almost two weeks. One of our own, Janet Sandlin, has chosen to accept God’s call to go and live there throughout the year too.

Also, Caleb and Sarah Waller, who came to UNCW as single college students, met in our college group, graduated from college, went to seminary, have now been appointed as career missionaries through our International Mission Board to the country of Bulgaria. You can read their monthly updates from our web site main page or at this link: https://www.southsidebaptist.church/content.cfm?page_content=announcement_include.cfm&announcement_id=225.
